Welcome to Sammy’s Nursery !

Christmas  is approaching and our little one will soon go to their new homes!

We did a few pictures of our little stars, each is named after a movie:

Ms White will be going to Cape Breton NS and her full name will be:

Champagne Moonrise Kingdom

 

Wally, Mr Green will be living with his mom Sammy in Bedford NS and his name will be

Champagne WmWallace Bravehart

 

Solie, Ms Red, will be living in Beautiful British Columbia and hopefully be a show girl her name will be :Champagne Quantum of Solace

and Ms Pink will be living the life in the Annapolis Valley, and her owners also have  horses, her name will be Champagne National Velvet

 

We are 5 1/2 weeks and we are real little dogs ! These are our first runway poses !

 

 

 

 

The puppies are growing up fast! Their eyes have opened, they can now walk and are soon going to experience food in a dish !

November 12, 2016

We are now 10 days old and we are growing fast !

Sammy’s mom and Dad came to visit and see their grand puppies!

These sweet little angels will soon turn into little hellions ! I cannot wait !

We have one boy and three girls:

It is hard work for mom!  Sammy resting with her puppies shortly after they were born.

June 6th,

Lots has happened this week.  This is the famous people litter, we have a name for everyone, now we have to decide who will be who !! In no particular order

” Kiri” ( STC!) Champagne Oceans Eugenie Clark ( a famous oceans scientist who first use diving in research – like her mom and dad)

” Jasper” Champagne Rocky Colin Robson ( for Mount Robson the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and Colin Robertson after which the mountain is named)

“Bertram” Champagne Bertie Wooster ( P.G. Wodehouse most famous character )

“Ginger”  Champagne Ginger Rogers  ( the famous actress and dancer)

The puppies are now officially little schnauzers, they have a routine which involves mainly requesting lots of petting in the morning – well all the time really, followed by a meal, a run around the big room – well several rounds- and collapse into a well earned coma.  Then we start again ! To Line and Michel’s delight, we have also trained ourselves to go to the litter box and sleep in our crates at night ( or the tunnel in the daytime, or in a pile)

We cannot approach the counter where the food is without being reminded that they are starving, even if they have just been fed ! Now if the big dogs get a cookie in their  crates, these little guys also need a treat !   We had fun this week running outside and playing with our ball sand box, playing in the steps and learning to go up and down, running up and down the hill, eating grass and generally spending our energy until our batteries ran out.  Today we got our first grooming too!  Enjoy the pictures from this week !

Life is getting more and more interesting ! The puppies are now very attuned to meal times and they also ‘demand’ attention, and request to come out of their play area.  Once you have tasted freedom…..

Tuesday May 19,  The Art of Mayhem !

now that the puppies have had a few days in their new accommodations, they are really turning into real little schnauzers !

So here is their new set up with the master bathroom at the back, sleeping accommodations on the left and play area on the right, we are very modern as we eat wherever we happen to be !

The party really begins when they clean our area and we get to go outside our pen and check out everything !

Monday May 4 th

In the life of a puppy there is no greater changes than between week 2 and week 3; finally the eyes are formed and start opening, the ears are also kicking into action, they find their voice and their legs ! We go from crawling neonates to little schnauzer puppies !

Uhum, that does not make them any easier to photograph 😉 even with 6 hands and 4 puppies…… well that is not enough hands !

Monday, April 27

Here we are , together facing in the same direction ! For just a moment: from left to right:

Ms White Mr Green, Mr Blue an Ms Pink

We are growing at light speed and our eyes are just about to open, but none would do it for the camera just now.  They are a very sweet bunch of puppies, so far very well behaved !!

Ms Pink  is slightly smaller than her siblings, but not by much; these are substantial puppies.

Ms White is the chart topper, and can be distinguished by her lighter colouring.

 

 

 

Ms Green is the leader weight wise and has slightly lighter socks that the others , while Mr Blue is content to be in the middle of the pack.

You can tell by now that the boys have a stronger heads than the girls, and they are all very sweet.

 

 

 

Mr Blue and and Ms White having a rumble ! It is funny to see them role over as  means of getting in the direction they want to travel.

They are quite mobile, although still crawling and they are starting to practice push ups, a precursor to getting on all fours.

This coming week will be a big week in terms of development: the eyes will open, their hearing will kick in and…. they might get VERY mobile by the end of the week.  So far there is no question as to where they are: somewhere in their whelping box, next week we might have to start putting doors in.  The fun will begin !

Friday April 24

Could not wait for the week end ! The puppies are growing by leap and bounds, Sammy is an ice cream factory! She is a very dedicated mom and is very particular about her area. When she cleans the puppies and they pee, she moves everyone to another corner and folds the blanket so nobody goes in the wet area.

 

If I do not happen to

notice quickly enough, she calls me and give me the “look” like ” Time to change this blanket”.

Here is this morning, these puppies like their privacy, really hard to get their little faces !

We are a week old already !  April 20

My long awaited shot of everyone line up, needless to say this was one of the last shots of the day, after every one was well worn out 😉

Interestingly enough in this litter I could dispense with the ribbons for everyday as I can tell all the puppies apart: Mr Blue, below, has a little white blaze on his chest, Mr Green has lighter socks ( see picture in my hand above), Ms White is much lighter than all the others, and  Ms Pink is the darker girl.  I will keep the ribbons on for the pictures though, they still all look like little Jedi 😉

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 5 – April 18

Day 3 – April 16

Sammy is a very attentive mother and it is quite difficult to distract her from her puppies.  she has come out to visit for very short times and supervises me quite closely when we do the weight in each morning ! Talking about weigh in, these guys are breaking records, not to worry they will all eventually fall back to normal sizing but they are off to a great start !

Day 2- April 15

Everybody is doing great, I thought the puppies would need to join over eaters anonymous  but they have learned to sleep too so we are all good! I tried to have 4 little faces to show you, maybe tomorrow ! The boys in blue and green and the girls in white and pink.

 

 

 

 

 

On Monday April 13th, Sammy delivered 4 big healthy puppies, 2 boys and 2 girls! here is Sammy when she visited in the Fall.  Sammy – Champagne Totally Bewitched, is Lia’s daughter  by AMCH Starlight’s Seasar.
